Excellent combination of Rock, Modern Country and Blues! Great Guitars!
Howard Lee Edwards' first release displays his impressive songwriting skills using "every man" lyrical themes surrounded by incredible guitar playing abilities. The songs all combine Modern Country, Blues and Rock influences in a very effective way. All of the songs make you want to tap your feet and play your best air guitar due to the great hooks, guitar riffs and solos throughout the CD. There seems to be a theme to the CD- fast cars, beautiful women and a nothing left to lose mentality, bringing to mind that ubiquitous movie scene where the leading man is seen speeding away from it all with his girl in a hot rod convertible. All of the songs bridge that narrow gap of Modern Country and Rock, so anybody with a taste for well written songs with great guitar hooks that make you want to move and do your finest air guitar windmill will love songs like (but not limited to) "Nothin' But Dust" and "Mile After Mile". There are some great, Bluesy guitar solos, for example on "Wide Open", "Justify", "Slow Burn", "What It Takes", "It's On". There are a some fun, rockin', "air guitar" party tunes- "Do It Again", "Like We Used To", "One Hand On The Wheel" and "It's On". A few greasy, Bluesy tunes that rock (in an Aerosmith kinda way) like "Justify", "Slow Burn", "Calm Before The Storm" and "0 to 60 in 3.5" and some great love songs that still have big, heavy guitars using "Top Of The World" as an example. You can be assured that all of the songs on the CD have great guitar riffs, hooks and solos displaying Howard Lee's impressive mastery of the instrument. ~ Keith/CD Baby
